Klix the Tower Keeper
One day in 2018...
The tower was purchased by Han-Mar Aps, wholly owned by Jess Jessen-Klixbüll, who is responsible for the purchase of the tower and Thorvald Hansen's house, which is located next door.
The tower is open to the public for a fee of DKK 20 for adults and DKK 10 for children. Payment is made in a milk jug or via Mobilpay.
Future uses beyond this are still in the planning stages, but ideas are flowing. This is something the tower is good for; everyone has an idea – a wonderful experience. Læsø Theatre Associations are talking about local theatre. Læsø Tourist and Business Association is talking about storytelling evenings and stars, and Læsø Art Week has exhibited in the house.
Thorvald Hansen's Tower in use
In keeping with Thorvald's spirit, the tower has once again become a prominent part of life on Læsø and in Byrum.
The tower is visited by many people and is also part of several events: we have experienced theatre, we have been part of Lys i Mørket (Light in the Darkness) in November, the Art Association uses the building from time to time, and the tower also provides an atmospheric backdrop for storytelling.
